Our Mission
At Vom Kylohaus German Shepherds, we have one purpose: produce healthy dogs for a variety of situations.
Our dogs are versatile. We offer pet, sport, or working prospects. Most puppies have the capabilities to go any direction; however, we do occasionally produce puppies who are far too driven for a pet home or are not driven enough for working homes. Puppies have evaluations at 4 weeks and 7 weeks to determine drives and ensure they are still a good fit for their placements.
All of our breeding dogs are tested for DM and have their hips and elbows screened. We will NEVER breed failing dogs, and we will NEVER pair 2 dogs who are DM carriers. Currently, none of our males carry DM, and our females who do are listed as such.

In 2016, I purchased what was supposed to be a well-bred German Shepherd. The “breeders” assured me he was vet checked and everything was clear. I was young and naive, and I took them at their word.
At our initial vet visit, we learned he had grade 7 heart murmurs on both ventricles. The vet encouraged us to return him to his breeder for a refund, but I just couldn’t. I was so attached to this dog; he was a part of our family. The breeder didn’t even care. When I reached out to her, she told me he was fine and blocked me.
He played like a normal puppy. He didn’t tire easily. He was so incredibly smart and would play fetch for hours. The vet said that often, small murmurs can dissipate on their own, but she didn’t expect that to be the case with him. We opted to schedule him with a cardiologist to see if he was a candidate for surgery, but they were months out with scheduling.
One morning, my neighbor’s dog, who was always roaming, appeared at my doorstep with a wound on her chest resembling a bullet. While I was tending to her and my husband was trying to reach our neighbor, our boy was inside losing his mind because he wanted to come out too. After getting her squared away, I went in to let him out, only to find him gone in his crate. His heart gave out when he was overexcited. I was devastated.
After many years of trying to find a breeder who was ethical but also had dogs that fit my lifestyle, I decided to start my breeding program. I don’t ever want any family to experience what I went through.
He was smart. He was joy. He was love.
He was KYLO.
